The Purohit should have unwavering devoutness in Sanatan Dharma. They should practice Dharma in their life. Live a disciplined life by following Yama-Niyama. Be a role model for the Yajman and be modest. After waking up in Brahma Muhurta, bathing, and yoga-pranayama, they should perform the mandatory Sandhya-puja and Gayatri Japa. Shikha, Tilak, and Yagyo-paveet are also mandatory for the Purohit. They should be free from addiction, and drinking is prohibited. Eat vegetarian food. The scriptures tell that a person becomes a Brahmin by adhering to the above principles. Satsang and self-study are also part of their routine. They should be ready to perform puja at everyone's house without any discrimination of high or low.

Our Karmkand (rites and rituals) are derived from Vedic scriptures. These practices are the path of material and spiritual upliftment. The Vedas have three main subjects: rituals, knowledge, and devotion. The Karmkand tell us how to live the different stages of life. So that the worldly and transcendental upliftment. This is the art of living.  Karmkand is concerned with spirituality, Yagya, social life, cultural life, conduct, and so on.

Purohit should live a Sattvik life, particularly from one day prior to any Karma. Be vegetarian. Wear only white, yellow or light pink clothes at the time of any Puja, and not saffron. Do not use leather goods. Wear a white cap or turban on the head and wear Angavastra while performing the rituals.

Karma and Sanskar are based on very esoteric Darshan. This is the gift of divine Vedas and the sages, so take them seriously.

Purohit should always have the welfare of the host in their mind. You should always be showering good wishes and blessings for Yajman even if you do not get due respect from the Yajman.

You should keep acquiring and acquainting the host with the knowledge of Vedas and inspire them to walk on the right path. Make a list of worship materials keeping in mind the financial condition of host Yajman. Poor hosts may also have to work with limited Puja  materials.

To enhance knowledge continuously Purohit should connect with Vedic pundits, saints, and learned people. Read and listen to scriptures. Learn Sanskrit and master flawless chanting of Mantra.
The scriptures also tell us that we have to move according to the country, time, and situation. There is also a provision of Aapad Dharma during the crisis.

No Purohit or Purohit associated with the Hindu Purohit Sangh will demand money, fees, etc. in lieu of performing the Karmkand. They would follow the traditional practice of  Daan-Dakshina. It is to be known that in the scriptures, collecting money for divine deeds is considered a sin. But Purohit have the right to take Daan- Dakshina. The Purohit should chant Sandhya and Gayatri Mantra so that their virtuous deeds do not get destroyed by taking Daan- Dakshina.

Always show respect to women and look at them as mothers and daughters - Matrivat Pardareshu Pardravyushu Lostvat. Do not allow anyone to insult women, abuse them, or use language with a male-dominated mind-set. For a householder, the couple complements each other. Any work is incomplete without a wife. While performing the work, make the children sit in the front row and arrangements should be made for the saints, great men and elders, they should be welcomed with wreaths, shawls or flowers, etc. Saints and elders should be invited for food in the first place followed by children and women and finally everyone else. Sick and people with disability people should get maximum attention. Please satisfy the curiosity of children about the karmkaand.

Scriptures provide that we should not create fear in the public, but awaken their conscience. Inculcate in them the spirit of devotion, Purusharth, and discipline. Awaken them to take care of their health and cleanliness, and inculcate in them a sense of service and duty. Generate respect and compassion. Duty towards seniors, women, the helpless, poor, people suffering from loneliness other creatures, and so on. Agitate the youth against dowry, and social evils and create a sense of equality in them. Inculcate the culture of responsibility. Today the whole world is suffering from environmental and water crisis, poverty and social inequality and terrorism.

Propagate Sanatan Dharma, this is the way forward.
